Kingdom Canidae: Red Fox.

★ Kingdom Canidae [3/10]:

The personal project that I've been working on; it's a series of 10 images illustrating a fantasy world that showcase 10 different kinds of Canids (doggos!) with facts and story~
Its intent is to be printed as a book so the artwork is created in spread format.

☆ Red Fox. (In Latin; Vulpes Vulpes) 

Resting by the trunk of an old tree, the old forest offers many secrets.
Not seen by many observers by day, but if they search carefully they can find this travelling band of a thief and his foxes.

☆ Story

The Band of Thieves, is what most people would call them.

The leader who sits among the foxes is reputable for evading anyone.
Being the hired thief for most private contracts, he is able to execute his mission with his foxy pals and vanish into thin-air afterwards.
They rest in the old forest as their stop-off point, relaxing in between each mission. Now that you know this, don’t tip them off, okay?

☆ Facts & Info

Red foxes have been in a long history with humans, being hunted as a pest and also for their fur.
Their pupils are vertical, similar to a cat, which allows them to adapt to night vision. They also have excellent hearing.
They are often depicted as sly and mischievous in mythology and folklore, due to their behaviour and temperament.

     

Did you know? Female foxes are called Vixens.
